Thanksgiving Baskets
Every year, we provide 73 families with all materials needed for a classic Thanksgiving family meal. The recipients include families of children attending Olympic View Elementary and also the Broadview Family Shelter.
It’s only possible with collective effort! We need donations of money, supplies, freezer space, and dollars. We check out every grocery ad and flyer in the first two weeks in November, and then we start shopping.
For example:
- Frozen pies $3 at grocery outlet -no limit . We need 73 pies. If you buy $35 worth of groceries, you can purchase a turkey for $3.99. That means $40 will get us 12 pies and a turkey!
- Carrots – 25lbs for $125wholesale
- Cranberry sauce – buy 2 get one free at grocery outlet. Buy 6 at Fred Meyer for $1.50/can
- Butter $3.50/lb, limit 5 lbs at Fred Meyer

You can really help out by shopping for DEALS – we will advise you what to get and where to go – you buy the items and we’ll refund you the money. Leave a message at the church office (206-525-8900) or contact Harriet Koscho if you would like to participate!
